İlk Diş / First Tooth

CAN hastaneden eve ilk geldiğinde hasta olacak diye çok korkuyordum. Herşey steril olmalıydı, eller günde bin defa dezenfekte edilmeliydi, eve yabancı giremezdi... CAN hergün banyo yapmalı, yatak çarşafları hergün değiştirilmeli, kıyafetleri sürekli değişmeli, hatta CAN odasından çıkmamalıydı. Zaten oksijen konsantratörü ve oximetresi ile odasından ayrılması pek de mümkün değildi.

Birgün CAN biraz keyifsiz mi derken üzerine bir de hafif bir ateş başladı. Hemen doktorunu aradım, sağolsun hemen bize uğradı, CAN'ı muayene etti, zaten sık sık geliyordu, çünkü herşeyi kafasına takıp sürekli endişe eden bir anne vardı :) Herhalde dişi çıkıyor, zaten diş eti de kabarmış, dedi. Kısa süre sonra CAN'ın alt ortadaki 2 dişi çıktı ve çok güzel bir diş buğdayı partisi yaptık.

CAN doğduğundan beri ilk defa birşey doğum tarihine göre kronolojik olarak olması gereken zamanda gerçekleşiyordu. CAN'ın ilk dişleri çıkmıştı. İlerleyen aylarda CAN'ın her ateşi çıktığında aynı konu gündeme geldi, diş çıkarıyor olabilir miydi? Sonunda CAN'ın bütün dişleri tamamlandı. Bu iş bitmişti, yaşasındı, ta ki düne kadar...

Son birkaç hafta içinde CAN'ın ilk çıkan alt orta dişi olduğu yerde adeta dönmeye başladı, çarpık bir diş görünümü aldı. CAN'ın süt dişleri dökülmeye başlıyor olabilir miydi? İlk kontrol ettiğimde diş sağlamdı. Dün akşamüzeri oral terapi masajı sırasında durum değişmişti, CAN'ın dişi sallanıyordu.

Hemen CAN'ın pedadontistini aradım. Zamanlama ve dişin dönme hareketi normalmiş. Bana alttan gelen dişi görüyor musun?, diye sordu. Eğer görüyorsam süt dişini erkenden çekmek gerekeceğini ama görmüyorsam iyice sallanmasını beklemenin daha uygun olacağını söyledi. Önden arkadan diş etlerini kontrol ettik babasıyla ışık kaynağı kullanarak ama yeni diş görünürde yoktu. Yani beklemek gerekecekti muhtemelen ama yine de doktoru bir görsündü tabi, hem florür tedavisinin de zamanı gelmişti, hemen bir randevu alınmalıydı.

İnanamıyorum, benim küçücüğüm gerçekten büyüyor. Erken doğumdan etkilenmeden kronolojik yaşına göre çıkan o minicik dişler şimdi de yerini erişkin takipçilerine bırakıyor. O sarımsı minik dişler yerini bembeyaz inci tanelerine bırakacak umarım. Diş doktoru 3 yaşından sonra oluşmaya başlar yeni dişler, o tarihten sonra kalsifikasyonu etkileyecek bir olay yaşamadığına göre CAN, yeni dişleri de sorunsuz olur, demişti. Diş perisi, diş perisi nerdesin?

When CAN first made it home from the hospital I was so afraid that he would get sick. Everything had to be sterile, hands had to be disinfected a thousand times a day, no strangers were allowed in the house... CAN took a bath everyday, his bed sheets were changed every day, his clothes were changed constantly, CAN did not leave his room. It was nearly impossible for him to leave his room anyway due to the oxygen concentrator and oximeter which were not made for mobile use.

One day while I was conscious about CAN's mood he became feverish. I called his doctor promptly, luckily she paid a quick visit to us, she examined CAN, she used to drop by frequently anyway, due to the constantly panicking mom who worried about just everything :) She said, probably it is his tooth, the gum has swallowed too. And soon enough CAN's 2 teeth from the mid lower jaw sprouted and we made a very beautiful tooth wheat ceremony.

It was the first time since CAN's birth, that one thing happened on time according to his chronological birthday. Our CAN's first teeth had sprouted. Each time CAN was feverish in the following months the same question was asked, is it a sprouting tooth? At last all of CAN's teeth were completed. This scenario was over, thank God, until yesterday...

Within last few weeks CAN's lower mid tooth which had sprouted first started to turn on its post, it became distorted somehow. Could it be that CAN's first teeth were starting to fall out? When I first checked CAN's tooth was stable. But during the oral therapy massage yesterday afternoon the situation had changed, CAN's tooth was loose.

I called CAN's pedadentist. The timing and the turning movement of the tooth were normal. She asked if I saw the coming teeth. If I did early intervention would be necessary but if not it would be more appropriate to wait for the tooth to loosen more. We checked the inner and outer gums with a light source with his father, but there was no new teeth in sight. We would probably have to wait, but still the doctor had to see it, it was time for the fluorine application too, so we would make an appointment asap.

I can not believe it, my little one is really growing up. Those tiny first teeth that sprouted on time without an influence of the early birth were now leaving their post to the adult followers. I hope those tiny yellowish teeth will be replaced by the whitest pearl drops. Our dentist had said that since the adult teeth starts to form after the age of 3 and CAN did not have any medical conditions that would affect calcification since then the new teeth would not have any problems. Tooth fairy, tooth fairy, where are you?
