Meslek / Occupation

Küçükken öğretmen olmak istediğimi söylediğimi hatırlıyorum. Ama sonrasında önüme konulan "akıllı çocuklar ya doktor ya mühendis olur" ikilemesi karşısında doktor olamayacağıma göre ancak mühendis olabilirim noktasına getirildiğimi biliyorum. Çocukluk işte demeyin, sonrasında işler daha da kötüye gitti... Çalışma hayatına atılma noktasında üst düzey yönetici olma hedefini koydum kendime! Yöneticilik meslek miydi ki ben "mesleğiniz" sorusuna vermek istediğim cevabı bu şekilde belirlemiştim?

Şimdi sorulur ise çoğunlukla anne, gönlünde eş, biraz girişimci olarak tanımlarım ancak kendimi; çünkü bunların her biri hayatımın bana birşeyler katan ve olduğum yeri bütünleyerek bana yaşatan bölümleri...

Wikipedia'ya göre; "Meslek, insanın yaşamını sürdürebilmek için yaptığı ve genellikle yoğun bir eğitim, çalışmayı gerektiren sürecin sonunda kişilerin kazandığı ünvanın adıdır".  Bana göre; "Meslek, insanın yaşamını mutlu bir şekilde sürdürürken ona para ve/veya güç kazandıran süreçlerin toplamıdır".

Peki CAN'ın mesleği ne olacak? Tabiki CAN kendi mesleğini kendi seçecek. Peki küçük yaşlardan itibaren yapabilirliklerini gözleyerek ona çeşitli imkanlar sağlamak, anne ve babası olarak bizler için önemli bir sorumluluk değil mi? CAN'ın mutlu bir birey olarak yapabileceği ve hayat boyu yapmaktan keyif alabileceği iş ne acaba?

Okuyucuya not: Eğer CAN birgün "ahçı" olur ve bir restaurant sahibi olursa, bugünkü düşüncelerimin bir yansıması ortaya çıkmış olabilir...


When I was a kid I remember saying that I wanted to be a teacher. But after the riddle that was presented to me as "intelligent kids become either engineers or doctors" I decided that my only chance was to be an engineer since it was impossible for me to become a doctor. Do not say that this was childish, things got even worse... At the point of starting business life I set the target to become a top executive manager! Was management an occupation to start with that I decided on the answer of the question "your occupation" as such?

If they ask me now I would describe myself as mostly a mother, a wife at the heart, a bit of an entrepreneur; because each of these are parts of my life which contribute to my self-being and make me live life by complementing where I am...

According to wikipedia; "Occupation may refer to: Job (role), a regular activity performed for payment, that occupies one's time". According to me; "Occupation is the sum of all procedures that earn a person money and/or power while living a happy life".

Then what will be CAN's occupation? Clearly CAN will decide on his own occupation. Still isn't it our responsibility as his mother and father to provide him different opportunities by monitoring his doabilities at the earliest possible ages? What is the occupation that CAN can do as an individual and be happy with doing all through his life?

Note for the reader: If CAN becomes a "cook" and owns a restaurant one day that may be a reflection of my current thoughts as of today...
